Volunteer Positions are open for Spring and Summer Staff:
for those 18 years and older with a willingness to serve!
:
Spring Opportunities (May - June)
Homewood offers an Outdoor education program to school groups on Vancouver Island. Spring staff are key to its success and act as instructors and leaders during these busy weeks. Approximately 15 college students are needed to help at this time. This number then doubles as we get into an extensive week of summer staff training in preparation for the summer camps of July and August.
Summer Opportunities (July - August)
Homewood offers a variety of programs during the summer for you to be involved with. Harbour Camp is held at our main site on Quadra Island. On these beautiful 275 acres, our activities centre around the waterfront and harbour setting. We accommodate about 65 campers in this program. Also on our main site is our Ranch Camp . This separate program is geared for 36 campers and runs concurrently with Harbour, but with its own schedule. Basic horsemanship skills along with many other activities combine to make this a much sought after experience.
About 1 / 2 hour away in a remote wilderness setting is our Woodsman Camp . This unique camp, located on a chain of fresh water lakes is entirely under canvas, and offers canoeing, kayaking, outtripping, windsurfing, sailing, campcraft, and more.
Each of these camps is a unique experience and summer staff are assigned to help in all of these areas throughout the summer.
DVBS and day camps are part of Homewood's ministry and these programs too are worked into the busy summer. There is no lack of opportunities to serve at Homewood. For a summer of challenge and exciting ministry, consider being part of our crew.
