Come for a season, volunteer for a month or stay for the year!

Come join us at Camp Homewood for a time filled with memories you won’t soon forget. You will experience a variety of camps including Ranch, Sailing, Woodsman, Harbour and family camps. (Curious about these? Check out our summer camps for full details.) You will work  with people from all across Canada plus some international flavor. Get ready for a summer of serving in many different ways from cook help to counselling. Each week is a new camp and filled with possibilities of impacting the next generation. This is an opportunity for you to grow in your faith, exercise your strengths and overcome your weaknesses. As staff you have the privilege to serve God by giving campers an experience of a lifetime on an island in beautiful British Columbia. 

Who may apply?

Anyone 18 or over who enjoys the outdoors, relates well to children and young people, and wishes to express love for Jesus Christ and people in self-giving service.

Time Frame:

Spring (early) season begins May 1st with a limited number of staff to lead our Outdoor Education school groups. Our summer season starts off with a two week training period in mid-June and continues on with a variety of camps up until August 31st.

Positions open for:

-Lifeguards - We are in need of lifeguards for all of our aquatic activities on our camps. Come serve by keeping our campers and staff safe on those sunny days by the ocean.

-Nurses - Looking for registered nurses needing a break from the hospital smell. Come and take care of the campers and give the parents some piece of mind. 

- Kitchen Help - Everyone has to eat and what better way to serve than in the kitchen. Enjoy a time of preparing meals for the hungry campers as they come from their fun filled activities. 

- Wranglers - Horse experience is key to keep the ranch camp exciting and safe. Come share your knowledge and passion for ranch camp with a ton of horse loving campers. 

- Counsellors - Homewood would not exist without counsellors! Be ready for a lot of fun and a lot of variety as you never know what the summer will entail. Flexibility is the key to unlocking the awesomeness that comes from being a counsellor. You will get to know 7-8 kids for a week but the friendship might last a lifetime. Counsellors may or may not do all of these things depending on experience and skill: Instructor for archery, riflery, crafts, canoeing, rowing, kayaking, water skiing, leading songs and performing. Is your talent not on the list? Let us know and we’ll see to it that there’s a place for you. 

-Bible teachers/speakers - Attention Bible College students. Need an audience to share all that good knowledge given to you by your amazing profs? Come and share with a new group of campers each week about the love of God and the hope in Christ. See lives change as you share the truth with kids from all types of backgrounds.

Volunteers will receive room and board for the summer and bursaries for those going on to College or University.
